Vetiver (Vetiveria Zizanioides) also known as Ushira in Sanskrit and Khus in Hindi, is a bunchgrass or tussock grass having fragrant thick adventitious roots, native to the Southern part of India. It is a popular cosmetic herb in Ayurveda, used for its potent antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial, and soothing and rejuvenating properties. Enriched with active constituents like α and β Vetivone, Khusimol, Vetiverol, and various other flavonoids, alkaloids, phenols, and phytochemicals such as terpenoids, tannins, and saponins that help to cleanse, purify and nourish the skin.
