Arnica

Arnica (Arnica Montana) also known by the names Mountain Daisy, Mountain Tobacco, or Wolfsbane and Harachampala in Sanskrit, is an herb that has been used in traditional folk and Homeopathy medicines for hundreds of years in India and across the world and is still popular today, all thanks to its anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, anti-microbial, analgesic and soothing properties. Arnica and its extracts are used as a potent ingredient in a wide range of skincare, hair care, and pain-relieving products in the form of cream, ointment, liniment, salve, or tincture.

A number of phytochemicals such as flavonoids, terpenoids, sesquiterpenes, coumarins, carotenoids (alpha- and beta-carotene, cryptoxanthin, lutein), volatile oils, and fatty acids (palmitic, linoleic, myristic, linolenic) are obtained from the flowers of Arnica.  Helenalin, a sesquiterpene lactone, is the main restorative compound that stimulates tissue regeneration in the damaged skin that helps to speed up the healing process.
